Melanie Tafejian is a poet, editor, and educator from Olympia, WA. She holds an MFA in Poetry from North Carolina State University where she won the 2020 North Carolina State Poetry Contest. She was a finalist for the 2019 Cutthroat Joy Harjo Poetry Award and won second place in the William Matthews Poetry Contest judged by Ilya Kaminsky. She has been nominated for Best New Poets and has work in, or forthcoming in, The Atlanta Review, The Georgia Review, The Los Angeles Review, Poetry Northwest, The Kenyon Review, and Willow Springs. She lives in Raleigh, North Carolina.
