Melanie Tafejian is a writer and educator from the Pacific Northwest.
Melanie's work has appeared on Indiana Public Radio and in journals such as, The Georgia Review, Nimrod, Poetry Magazine, Poetry Northwest, and The Los Angeles Review. Her first book manuscript was a finalist for the 2024 National Poetry Series. She won the 2021 Atlanta Review International Poetry Prize and was a finalist for both the 2023 Pablo Neruda Poetry Prize and the 2023 Southern Humanities Review Auburn Witness Prize. Melanie serves on the editorial staff for The Raleigh Review and received an MFA from North Carolina State University. She has taught classes at North Carolina State University and through the Redbud Writing Project. She currently lives in Washington State, where she teaches writing at community colleges and runs creative writing workshops online.
