ABOUT

Melanie Tafejian is a writer and educator from the Pacific Northwest. She holds an MFA in Poetry from North Carolina State University, where she won the 2020 North Carolina State Poetry Contest. She was awarded first place in the 2021 Atlanta Review International Poetry Prize. She has been nominated for Best New Poets and has work in The Georgia Review, The Los Angeles Review, Poetry Northwest, The Kenyon Review, and Willow Springs, among other journals. Melanie is on the editorial staff for The Raleigh Review and served as a 2022 Poetry Mentor with The Adroit Journal Summer Mentorship Program. She lives in Raleigh and lectures in the First Year Writing Program at NCSU.
